AHS Registration: Introduced by Stearn in 1931.
                              Registered by AHS in 1993.

Origin: Native to China.  One of the first hostas exported to the West.

Growth Rate: Good to fast.

Sun Tolerance: Morning sun tolerant.

Comments:  Glossy dark green foliage with distinctive ribbing.  Smooth
rounded leaves.  Numerous purple flowers held on 40" scapes.  Only
hosta variety to come true from seed.
