| Alex J. Summers Distinguished Merit Hosta - This award, established in 1982, is given in honor of the first president of the American Hosta Society. Only one hosta variety per year receives the award. The hosta winner is selected by the recipient of the Alex Summers Distinguished Merit Award, a member honored for outstanding service to the development of the genus Hosta and the American Hosta Society. |
